10 Things I Want to do Before I Turn 16: #4 Getting a Puppy
I love animals and especially dogs, so I was so excited when my mom said that we could get another dog! I knew I wanted puppy, and I officially was on the hunt.
I already knew that I wanted another Labrador Retriever, but they can be hard to find for the right price. As I got to looking, I found that I wanted a yellow lab puppy.
My mom’s cousin had been texting pictures of shelters and different Facebook posts that had puppies for sale. After awhile of looking, she finally sent a litter that we went to look at.
They had one female yellow lab available, so we immediately went to look at her. She was so tiny and I instantly fell in love with her!
We took her home that day, and she went to sleep right away. However, after she woke up, she was all puppy.
It took awhile to come up with her name, but my family and I decided on Charley. I think it suits her well, but as we’ve gotten to know her, she has become more and more energetic.
As the last couple of months have gone by, we have learned that Charley loves to play fetch. She plays it for hours on end, and she even throws the ball back at you.
Having a puppy is so much fun, but it is also equal the amount of work. She has gotten better as the weeks have gone by, but she has taken forever to train with accidents in the house.
Charley is now almost 6 months old, and I can’t wait to see what she is like when she gets older!
